Accessible Counselling
We offer reduced‑rate, 30‑minute single‑issue counselling sessions designed to increase equitable access to support for people navigating everyday challenges. These shorter sessions provide a focused space where you can explore one specific concern or question with a trained counsellor, receive empathetic listening, and learn tools grounded in research that are relevant to common areas of stress, transition, or difficulty. This format can be a way to introduce yourself to counselling, access support without a long‑term commitment, and gain practical strategies alongside understanding and validation, while keeping cost more accessible for those who might otherwise face financial barriers to care. The intention is to support well‑being through both compassionate presence and evidence‑informed approaches, recognizing that people’s needs and preferences vary and that multiple pathways to support can be helpful.
Virtual Counselling Sessions - Telehealth (Individual)
Telehealth clinical counselling is professional therapeutic support delivered through secure video or audio technology, where a trained mental health practitioner uses evidence‑informed approaches from psychology and counselling to work with clients on emotional, cognitive, or behavioural concerns. Like in‑person counselling, it focuses on collaborative dialogue and structured strategies within a supportive therapeutic relationship. What distinguishes telehealth is the ability to connect from a convenient and private space of your choice, which can reduce travel, scheduling, and accessibility barriers and help maintain continuity of care for those who live remotely, have mobility limitations, or need flexible options. Practitioners adapt their skills to the virtual setting, attending to communication cues available in online formats and tailoring the experience to each person’s needs and preferences. Telehealth is one of several available formats for accessing clinical counselling, with the choice of format made collaboratively based on comfort, goals, and practical considerations.
In Person Clinical Counselling (Individual)
Clinical counselling is a professional service in which a trained practitioner uses psychological theories, evidence‑informed methods, and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with a client on emotional, cognitive, or behavioural concerns. Drawing on knowledge from counselling psychology, clinical psychology, psychotherapy, and related fields, clinical counselling involves reflective dialogue and structured approaches that are grounded in research to help people explore their experiences, better understand patterns of thought and behaviour, and develop strategies that are appropriate to their goals and preferences. Practitioners strive to maintain a positive and supportive therapeutic relationship while applying interventions that have been studied within psychological science, recognizing that people’s needs vary and that the process is tailored to the individual rather than promising specific outcomes.
Walk and Talk Counselling (Indvidual)
Walk‑and‑talk counselling is a form of psychotherapy in which a client and therapist conduct a session while walking together, typically outdoors, rather than sitting face‑to‑face in a traditional office setting. In this format, the act of walking and moving through a natural or outdoor environment is integrated with the therapeutic conversation itself. Research on this approach is still developing, but preliminary studies suggest that walk‑and‑talk therapy is a feasible and acceptable modification of conventional therapy for many people, with participants and practitioners reporting that walking side‑by‑side can feel more relaxed and dynamic compared to indoor sessions and may foster engagement and ease in communication. Some pilot trials have found walk‑and‑talk formats deliver similar patterns of symptom change to traditional therapy while allowing movement and exposure to nature that research in environmental and health psychology links with reduced stress and supportive well‑being effects. The format also raises practical considerations, such as physical ability, privacy, and weather, which are addressed through planning and client‑therapist discussion. Because the evidence base is still emerging, walk‑and‑talk counselling is typically described as one of several therapeutic options that may suit a person’s preferences and needs rather than a guaranteed better or superior method.
Relationship Counselling
Family Counselling
Group and Family Counselling offers a supportive space where individuals and families can come together to explore experiences, build understanding, and strengthen connection at their own pace. Guided by trained practitioners using evidence‑informed approaches, these sessions are grounded in respect, safety, and acceptance of each person’s unique history and current needs. Group counselling creates opportunities to learn from others with shared challenges, while family counselling focuses on deepening communication and collaborative problem‑solving within relationships. Throughout, the emphasis is on honoring each person’s experience, fostering mutual support, and offering practical skills in a way that feels safe, respectful, and attuned to where people are in their journey.
Workshops and Groups
Workshops and group sessions are guided experiences where people come together to learn practical skills, explore shared themes, and support one another in a structured setting. Led by trained facilitators, these sessions draw on evidence‑informed practices to introduce tools and strategies for common life challenges. Workshops focus on specific topics in a time‑limited format, while ongoing groups create space for deeper connection and ongoing skill development. These offerings are designed to complement individual support by providing accessible opportunities for shared learning, growth, and community engagement.
